Our Story

Different places.
The same calling.

    A simple beginning

    In July 2020, in the middle of a pandemic, we began gathering in our pastor’s backyard—with breakfast tacos and a desire to follow Jesus together.

    A place to gather

    During the shutdown, we were blessed with the use of a prayer chapel—and air conditioning! The chapel’s stained glass became part of our identity, inspiring the Bulverde Chapel logo.

    Church in the living room

    After moving to the Bulverde area, we gathered in the Smith family’s living room. We kept making room until we outgrew the space.

    Room provided

    God provided a gathering place in the back of the Vintage Barn, in a space renovated into a prayer chapel. We shared another season of life there until we outgrew that space, too.

    A church building

    Another provision from God brought us into a church building. A new place to gather, worship, and continue following Jesus together.

    Today, we gather at Warrior Park CrossFit. Back with no AC. Back to our roots. Home, sweet home.

Have kids? Elementary ages have their own class during Sunday School, and the nursery is open through the 10:30 service. Older kids stay in worship with their parents. Ask anyone when you arrive and we will point you to the right room.

Bulverde Chapel is a simple gathering modeled after the church in Acts: a family of neighbors who read Scripture plainly, pray honestly, and stay for the meal. Together we are making disciples here in Bulverde, one week at a time.

"And they devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers... And day by day, attending the temple together and breaking bread in their homes, they received their food with glad and generous hearts, praising God and having favor with all the people."

We sing to God together, and the focus stays on the One we are singing to.

We discuss

Scripture is read and talked through together, and questions are part of how we learn.

We give

Giving is part of our worship together, funding the work God has for us here in Bulverde.

We eat

Every Sunday ends around tables. The meal is on us, and nobody is in a hurry to leave.

A New Beginning Starts with God’s Holiness

A new beginning is an invitation to recognize God’s holiness and offer ourselves to Him again. As Bulverde Chapel begins gathering in a new place, this message turns to Joshua to explore what it means to trust God, obey His direction, and continue the mission He has given us. From crossing the Jordan to Joshua’s encounter with the commander of the Lord’s army, we see a people called to depend on God’s work as they follow His lead. The stories of Achan and Rahab bring that calling close to home: let go of hidden sin, approach God with reverence, and welcome others to hear the good news of His rescue through Jesus. Our location may change, but our mission remains. This is a moment to examine our hearts honestly, care for one another, and offer our whole lives to the Lord. As we take the next step together, we are called to make disciples and help others learn to follow Jesus. Main Scriptures: Joshua 1:1–3; Joshua 5:13–15; Joshua 7; Romans 12:1; Matthew 28:19–20.

Through The Week

Studies and gatherings.

Sunday is where we start, not where it ends. During the week we open Scripture in smaller groups, pray together, and give our students a place of their own.

Men's and Women's studies meet on alternating Thursdays at 6:30 PM.

Chapel Youth Group

Every Wednesday, 5:30–7:00 PM.
